Crafts That Capture
the Essence of Summer By Kymberly Pratt
the Essence of Summer
To assemble the wind chime, tie a loop on one end of the twine to hang your wind chime after it is complete. Next, tie a double knot about 2 inches from the loop you have tied. Slip a bead next to the double knot and tie a second double knot. This will prevent the pot from slipping up over the loop.
Place the pot on the twine and carefully slip another bead up inside the pot. You will then tie a third double knot as close to the bead as you can get. This will help the pot stay in one place and not slip off the twine.
Finally, tie the large jingle bell on the wind chime twice. Make sure to tie it in a position that it can hit inside the pot and make a noise when the wind blows it. Your toddler will delight in hearing the sound it makes!
You'll need:
- 10 carpet squares (can be purchased at home improvement stores)
- Fabric paint
- Paintbrushes
- Rock
Here's what you do:
Use the fabric paint to paint the numbers one to 10 (one number on each carpet square). You can also paint pictures instead of numbers if you wish.
After the paint has dried, set the squares in the desired hopscotch pattern and begin to play. These are easy to store, and your kids will love them!
