Be "Danger Ranger" Ready!
Animated, Action-Adventure Characters Empower Kids to Think Safe, Play Safe and Be Safe With 10 Important Summer Safety Tips
The summer heat means more open windows to ventilate the home. Children living in multi-story apartments are more likely to sustain a serious injury from falling out of a window. To reduce the risk of an accidental fall, open double hung windows from the top only, install operable window guards on second and higher story windows and avoid placing furniture near windows and balconies on which children can climb.
"Preventable injury has reached epidemic proportions," says Michael David Moore, co-founder and CEO of Educational Adventures Inc. "In the USA alone, worried parents make 20 million frantic trips to the emergency room every year. Sixty thousand of these parents receive the devastating news that their child has been permanently disabled due to a home, travel or recreational accident. Annually, on a global basis, at least one million children lose their life after an unintentional injury. The Danger Rangers and other educational programming can help reduce those numbers. "Studies show the majority of these deaths are preventable through better education," says Moore. "And who better to educate than the children themselves."
