One Family's Brush With the Internet's Dark Side

we had thought of every way to protect our son's mind from this kind of thing, even down to not allowing him to have e-mail or any other kind of mail.

Some things about what happened are funny, although I feel guilty laughing at all when it is such a serious issue. Our son's friend was convinced that naked was pronounced "nekkid," so that is what we found in the search engine history. Thank you God for our poor speller! Another thing was that our son had saved the clip in his list of favorites – not the thing one does if one is subtle about one's Internet visits. When we talked later about the birds and the bees, he asked us if the scrotum wouldn't explode if it was constantly making seeds.

Some of the natural consequences are terribly sad. Our son and his best friend now have to be kept apart, and our son's friend does not even want to see him to hear an apology. Before this they were always calling each other to play. He is so young, yet I have lost my little boy. We have had to explain the facts of life with him based on the filth he saw, not in the way we wanted to present the imagery of it. My son feels weird when I snuggle up to him. I will always have to watch him when he has a friend over. I wonder how to help restore his healthy view of women.

It was too easy for my child to get sucked in. With some extra care, your child will not be next.
