Facts and Figures
  • Eighty-nine and a half percent of all children ages 5 to 17 use computers, and 58 1/2 percent of all those children use the Internet.
  • One in 5 youths (ages 10 to 17) reported receiving sexual solicitation in the last year, and pre-adolescents have the hardest time coping with it.
  • Nine out of 10 children between ages 8 and 16 have viewed pornography on the Internet. In most cases, the sex sites were accessed unintentionally when the children were looking for something else.
  • Pornographers disguise their sites with common brand names, including Disney, Barbie, ESPN, etc., to entrap children.
  • Twenty-six popular children's characters, such as Pokemon, My Little Pony and Action Man, revealed thousands of links to porn sites. Thirty percent were hard-core.
