Creepy Crafts
Easy Projects to Do with Little Ones
By Kymberly Pratt
Pasta
Fool coloring
String or yarn
Scissors
Bowls and towels
Put water in each bowl and the desired amount of food coloring. Combine different colors to make your own unique hue! Orange, purple and black are great Halloween colors. Place different types of dry pasta in each bowl and let it soak. The longer it soaks, the darker the color will be. Make sure the pasta is covered completely.
After the pasta is the desired color, remove it to paper towels, then let it dry completely on a cookie sheet. When dry, let your child string it on the yarn to make fun necklaces.
2 shoeboxes
Black and white paint
Black and white craft foam
String
Scissors
Wiggle Eyes (optional)
Designate one box for white paint and one for black paint. Place a piece of black foam (you will cut it to shape later) in the box for the white paint. Place four or five drops of white paint on top of the foam. Put four marbles in the shoebox and show your toddler how to rotate the box. The rotation will allow the paint to spread on the foam. Be sure to supervise your child as marbles are a choking hazard. When your child is happy with the pattern, take the foam out and do another one (white foam and black paint, black foam and white paint).
Once the foam is dry, cut ghost shapes out of the black foam and spider web shapes out of the white foam. Glue wiggle eyes on your ghost and paint spiders on the web, if desired.
