Sunny Day Crafts
Escape the Heat With Summertime Crafts
By Kymberly Pratt
When the weather is too hot to handle, stay inside and have craft time with your little ones. Or brave the heat and have a rainbow of fun!
These crafts require adult supervision.
Homemade Tic-tac-toe
You'll need:
Felt squares
Dry beans or rice
Hot glue
Scissors
Poster board
Markers
Yardstick
Here's what you do:
First, you are going to make the individual bean bag pieces by placing two pieces of felt, one on top of the other. Decide on your favorite shape (triangle, circle, square, etc.). Cut out five sets of this shape. Since you have the felt on top of each other you will only need to cut five times. Next, hot glue two of the shapes together leaving a small hole open. Through this small hole, pour about half a cup of dry beans, then finish hot gluing the shape together. Again, you will need five of these shapes.
After completing those five, decide on another shape and do the same, making five of the second shape.
To make the tic-tac-toe board, use the yardstick and markers and draw a tic-tac-toe board on the poster board. Now you are ready to play!
