Grampy can't walk anymore because he has multiple sclerosis. But that doesn't slow him down, or his grandchildren. Together, they go places, do things and learn about life as only grandparents and grandchildren can.

It's Springtime in My Backyard (Spring Ducks Books, 2006) by Kathy Mazur

At 4 years old, Kathy Mazur's daughter, Lauren, began speech therapy twice a week. Her plan was to strengthen Lauren's communication skills before she entered kindergarten. The following spring, Mazur began to witness and write the story for this book. She wanted to encourage Lauren to be a part of the storytelling process through a pictorial format that they created together and shared.

It's Springtime in My Backyard is a pictorial journey of Mazur's daughter's delightful encounter with two very special ducks – Molly and Moe – who come and nest in their backyard each year at the first signs of spring.

We're Having a Tuesday (AC Publications Group, 2006) by DK Simoneau

"Yes, it's Tuesday! Go away! Just leave me alone!" These are the angry words of a little girl trying to deal with bouncing back and forth between her divorced parents' homes. The book is the story of how one little girl is reminded that no matter where she is, the love from both of her parents is tucked safely inside of her own heart.
