.
  • Always say thank you, even if someone you love gives you a frying pan for Christmas. Lesson learned? Gratitude.
  • Don't ignore your dog even if he hasn't had a bath in two weeks and just dropped a dead mouse at your feet. Lesson learned? Unconditional love.
  • Deodorant is a must if you live in the south. Lesson learned? Cleanliness.
  • Always wear sunscreen. Lesson learned? Health.
  • Apologize even if you think you are right it takes two to tango. Lesson learned? Humility.
  • Don't stop singing along to the radio in the car even when you get to the stoplight. Lesson learned? Courage.
  • Don't let a day go by without telling your family you love them. Lesson learned? Love.

I know there are so many more things that my children have learned from me over the years too many to list.

Motherhood comes with a great responsibly not to be taken lightly. Through trial and error I hope my children will see that there are many lessons to be learned along the road to adulthood. If I were to choose the lessons I hope they will learn, I would list these as my top six:

    1. Love yourself.
    2. Be humble.
    3. Follow your dreams.
    4. Be kind to others.
    5. Be happy.
    6. Enjoy every moment of your life.

Someone once told me that motherhood is mostly trial and error there are no handbooks to follow. I hope that I have made few errors in my endeavors to raise happy, healthy, confident children.
