Winter stuff

January 28, 2007

I have meant to sit down and write so many times and one thing or another has come up so I haven't been able to. Well an update with Abbey and her stomach situation is that she has stopped having any pain so I guess it was just acid reflux. Thankfully, I am glad it wasn't anything serious. Also of excitement is she has taught herself how to write her name in cursive. I am really proud. I had no idea she could do it until she did. I am really proud. We have quite a few days at home together lately. One week school was canceled for 3 days due to the flu and the next week it was out two days for snow. The girls and I escaped having the flu. Mike had some virus that lasted a few days.  Abbey did dance camp with the University dance team.  She got to dance at  half-time of the University basketball game. It was really cute. She looked adorable and was really good. Her football cheerleading coach was there and she was going on about cheer camp and how the cheerleaders had their "pick kids" and those were the ones who won the trophies. I was completely shocked. I reminded her that two of her "kids" won awards at that camp and that we aren't even from around here. We know no one in this town. So I would be surprised if we were anyone's "pick" from the start. Abbey really enjoys cheering and practices constantly. With an attitude like that I really can't see myself putting Abbey on her team again.

Emmy and I went shopping for snack food and she kept saying we need this and this. I kept saying no finally she pointed to some juice and said "ok we need this for daddy." She looked at her sister the other day and said "sissy you wock" I just love the funny things she comes up with now. She is testing me more. The other day she said (not in a mean way) Your not the boss of me, sissy's not the boss of me, granny and honey aren't the boss of me. I said well Emmy who is she thought for a minute and said me. I said well that is true but I am also the boss and so is anyone watching you because we have to make sure you are safe and cared for. She thought for a minute again and said ok. It is like she wanted to be reassured that someone else was there with her.

I have been extremely sleepy lately. I could sleep all day and night. I have had to start napping with Emmy during the day. I have been sleeping ok at night. I have woken up two or three times and have gone right back to sleep.  I wonder if it could be the weather. We have gone from 60 degree weather to winter. It is snowing outside right now. Things may be changing at the preschool. I won't know what it will be until Maybe sometime this summer but we are sending out a survey to see what the parents want for next year. So I may or may not have my own class next year. I would hate it if I didn't but what can I do.  Really not much has been going on. We have been busy but nothing that is worthy an entry mostly just day to day stuff.
