Back to Regular Schedule

October 4, 2006

Well we have jumped both feet into our regular activities. Well except for Mike who still isn't allowed to do anything until he sees the doctors next week. A lot has happened since I last wrote. Weird things are going on at work (not spooky weird) I don't feel comfortable talking about that here so I won't. Me personally I love my job and adore my students. I could not ask for a better group of children. Cheerleading has kept us busy. We have had a couple of games and Friday the girls had a big cookout with the High school cheerleaders and then got called out onto the field. Abbey skipped and waved the length of the field. Then a high school cheerleader who Abbey knew from cheer camp took her and another girl with her to the tunnel to cheer the high school boys as they came onto the field. Abbey loved that. The little girls got to line up in front of the high school girls and actually do some cheers. Abbey looked completely bored and un-excited until they actually started cheering they she became her old peppy self. A mom brought me her daughter's old uniform for Emmy to wear so she will look exactly like her big sister. My video camera died well the battery died right before the actual cheering. None of that got recorded. I am so sad about that. I guess I will have to get it the next time. I was reading my your 30 month old email from parentcenter and I was really pleased. "By now your child should be able to put on an article of clothing and name about six body parts. She might also be able to balance on one foot for a couple of seconds or identify one color." Emmy can actually dress herself completely including putting shoes on she gets them on the right foot about 80% of the time. She also knows two colors pink and blue. "At this age, she might be able to identify one friend by name" She knows the names of her sisters best friends and some of the parents and can pick them out in a group. She knows most of the kids at church and asks about them if they are not present. Other milestones she has accomplished is she speaks in full sentences. She knows all the cheers her sisters cheerleading team does and gets up with them at the games and cheers. She can sing a very large number of songs. She has been potty trained since she was 21 months. We actually just got rid of the potty seat because she can get on the big toilet with the assistance of a step stool. I am very pleased with her. She will be coming with me to my three year old preschool class one day a week starting after fall break. Mike fell this evening. He tripped over his grandmas cat. He fell down a few steps and landed in the yard. He thinks he is okay just a little shaken up and sore. I worry about him since he hasn't been back to the Dr to make sure everything is Ok from the surgery. Speaking of the surgery. I am very pleased. It appears we will only have to pay half of what we thought. We received a statement from our insurance company saying that almost everything was covered at 100%. I don't know if it was because everything was an emergency and we had absolutely no choice in if it was performed. We are taking the girls to visit family this weekend. We have been busy every weekend with cheer stuff that is will be nice to l relax.
