Thanksgiving
November 28, 2006
Thanksgiving was nice. Mike came down with some 24-hour virus on Sunday and I got it on Tuesday. It started like the flu achy and fever and just feeling like crap but it was over by the next day. That was good for me because I had to get packed and loaded to leave for Thanksgiving. This was our year to go to my families. Abbey slept on the floor in a sleeping bag at moms and now she is having a major flare up so I should have known better now that I know what she is allergic to I need to be more strict about letting her around the triggers.
We put the tree up. Abbey was a really big help this year she did the ornaments and the angel for me. I don't care that all the ornaments are on the front and no higher than 4 feet high. It is the memory for her that she got to really help. Emmy loves the tree she wants it on all the time and the angel that sings and lights up too. She has already run the batteries down in that. I have 99% of the crafts made that I planned on making. I still need to make ornaments for the children in Abbey's class and the students at the preschool and a yard sign for Kim. Other than that everything is finished and I only need to shop for 3 people. This is the latest that I have ever been on finishing Christmas stuff. I try to get finished by Thanksgiving because that is when everything gets so crowded that you can't get in.
Speaking of crowded I finally made it to the after Thanksgiving sale. I went to Walmart. I made it there 5 minutes before the big sale started. They were open 24 hours so these people who REALLY wanted whatever were camped out at that display. I saw grown women throwing themselves on top of the 10 Cabbage patch crate. I snuck under them and grabbed two. That sale ended within 5 minutes. I saw a lady that had to have had 20 Cabbage Patch kids in her buggy. The fashion fever dolls were 5 and I managed 3 one was for my sister to give our cousin. That took a little longer to sale out and so did the 10 easy bake oven. Abbey has been dying for one of those. I also got a large Bratz doll but I gave it to a couple that asked where I found it. I also gave the CPK to my sister in law so she could give them to my girls. So all I bought was 2 fashion fever dolls and some allergy pillowcases. It was amusing. I have no idea if I will do it again but it was interesting to see all the people desperate for everything. That's why I finish my shopping early. I hate to feel rushed.
Today I took Abbey to get her tooth filled only it was worse than they thought and they pulled it. She screamed like crazy then she was ok. I know it had to hurt. I called my husband to tell him and he asked what they gave her for pain. I said other that the shot they give to numb it for a filling they didn't give her anything and they didn't tell me not to let her drink through a straw or anything. She has a ballgame tonight I have no idea if she is going to feel like cheering. I have to go to the game because I am filling in for the coach tonight. I am a little nervous. I hope I don't forget a cheer.
