...and baby makes 3!
July 11, 2006
I am officially (or maybe unofficially) 4 weeks and 4 days. I actually didn't expect this to be the month for us but I was 3 days late and though, "I'll test." My sister is an OBGYN and she had given me some tests to take when needed. And I figured since I wasted 3 last month, being 4 days late, I may as well waste another one. I even tested in the afternoon before my shower prior to going to my meeting. I left it on the counter and forgot to look at it. Ron came home and I thought about it and went to look and there was the faint line. He didn't really believe it saying it wasn't dark enough, but you can't be a little pregnant. You either are or you aren't. So, I've taken 2 tests in two days.
It took us 7 months of casual trying. I can remember with G, I was frustrated after 3 months. With Owen, I got pregnant after 7 months or maybe it was 8. I don't remember. This time, we took our time and didn't think about it or temp or anything. And surprise, we got pregnant this month. I really am shocked because I can't recall the exact date we could've conceived. We weren't keeping track. We've still been working hard on the house. We got most of the floor put down and the walls painted on the first floor except our closet. It all looks really nice. There is still tons of stuff in the living room that needs to come in the bedroom but it's kind of nice with bare walls and no clutter.
G is at day camp this week. He seems to like it. They went on the lake today on the pontoon and played at the beach. They have played tennis and basketball and soccer and board games and crafts. Today they watched a movie when it rained. It was only $75, which I think is a great bargain – for the full week – 9 am to 5 pm. Lately, he's been obsessed with band-aids and every little scratch and speck of blood warrants a band-aid. The papers are all over the place. I've never seen so many instances of blood – makes me wonder if he's doing it on purpose.
We are having bedroom furniture made for the boys. I'm having a twin over queen bunk bed made out of pine lodgepole logs. I have furniture similar to that already but, I want to make matching furniture for the boy's room and move the guest furniture over to the other room to make room for baby #3. the guy (http://www.lincolnlogsfurniture.com/) is making me the bunk beds, a crib, two side tables, a dresser with mirror and a train table for about $2000+ which I don't think is bad for a whole new bedroom suite. I might have him make a few more things, but I'm not sure yet. He's supposed to get back with me with more prices on things. There goes the tax refund! G keeps asking me when his top and bottom bed will be here. I figure by mid-August it will arrive.
Owen is not cooperating with his potty training. I haven't done the PT in one day yet, but I thought earlier this evening we were getting closer. He came in and asked to sit on the big potty so he could pee. And he did. Then an hour later, he peed on my brand new couch! Ugh!
