...twas the life before Christmas...

December 8, 2006

I am almost all done with Christmas shopping. I still want to get gifts for G's teacher, her aide, my receptionists and few stray people. I'm always afraid someone will give me a gift and I don't have one for them. Spares are always good to have around. We did decide to make this a Christmas light on presents for the kids. We and the boys are going on a cruise and you can only schlep so much on a cruise. Besides, I don't think they will notice. I think they'll be having so much fun that they won't even care. The main gift for G is the Robo-pet. He wanted the Robo-raptor but it just won't fit in a suitcase. Owen is getting a Road Ripper. That's one of those trucks that have buttons on top and they play music and make sounds and stuff. I got him the one that sings "Who Let the Dogs Out." He likes that song. Then we got them some smaller gifts and tons of stocking stuffers.

The boys Christmas thing is at the daycare tonight. G is Joseph. The daycare lady asked him if he wanted be Joseph a few weeks ago when I was picking them up. He thought for a second and looked at her real seriously and said "I'd really like to be God." I guess he had the right idea but a little impossible. We all laughed at that.

Owen is still home with me (should be at daycare for the last hours of practice) but we are waiting for a repairman to come so I can't leave the house between 10 and 2 for fear of missing him. We bought a new couch over the summer and it has already started to rip at the seams. It's under warranty which is good but I don't know how they are going to fix it. In fact a part of me wants to send it and all the pieces back for a refund. Because it's only a matter of time before it happens to other cushion on each piece. So, we are waiting here at home. Then there's this lady I work with who wants some papers from me and wants me to take it them her. I've tried to email them to her, but he computer doesn't open Adobe, graphics or print pictures from email! What is the purpose of a computer if you don't' have any software on it. I haven't tried a word program yet, but she's already confused and said she has screwed up her computer. Whatever!

We are exchanging family gifts next weekend. My brother and his wife are coming in town for Christmas and getting their new baby baptized. So, we are coordinating a gift exchange since other WILL be in town for the Christening. I'll be glad when that's all done. Then all we'll have to do is pack and get away. The thought of getting away for Christmas is quite nice. I'm glad we are going away and going to be having a relaxing time with no cooking, no cleaning, kids club...ah!

I had an ultrasound this week (12 weeks now) and everything looks great. We couldn't determine the gender but we'll try again next time. I think I'll go back for another one at 20 weeks. I have my next doctor's appointment on January 2. The morning sickness knocked me out the past few weeks but it seems in the last 3 days, I've been feeling better. And I have a bad cold. I just want to feel 100% better with nothing else in the way. I noticed last week I was coming down with something and it seems to be passing. But, then on Wednesday I started getting larengitis. I can't talk very well today. I sound much worse than I feel.

Have a great Holiday season and I'll chat with everyone later. I get readers on my board but never get any replies. Check out my board.
