February 8, 2003

Oh this weekend couldn't have been better. My mom came over and stayed the night so she could spend some time with the boys, before her surgery. So Don and I were off to a hotel for the night. We stayed in a room with a double jacuzzi tub. Oh pure heaven! We stayed up till 3 in the morning talking and watching the travel channel. Speaking of that channel, we decided that after I get a job and work long enough for a vacation Hawaii is where we are going! Well we slept in till 10, another pure heaven, and then we out for breakfast, and then a day of shopping. Well actually hours of shopping. But it was fun! First stop was Toys R Us. Oh the ultimate store! Didn't really know what to get Noah, but we think either a tricycle, or a sandbox. But still debating on what to really get him. Austin's was easy. He had told me he wanted a new red bike with a water bottle. Well there it was! The last "Red bike with a water bottle" so we grabbed it. Though the store tried to charge us 10 extra because it was already assembled. I realized that my dear, sweet husband is getting a little more aggressive in his age. Haaa! He was humm...VERY stern about the price and demanded to see the manager. He went on to tell her that it was not our fault that it was the last bike and already assembled so we should get the unassembled price. Boy we got it too! I told her that we could go to WalMart and pay the same amount and we will just assemble it at home. Well we walked out of Toys R Us with a red bike with the water bottle. Haa! Mommy and Daddy prevails!!!!!! HOORAY!!!! We were happy about it. Then we went and finally purchased a solid wood entertainment center and computer desk. At last we won't have to go buy those 2 items every few years like we have been. That will be delivered next week. We are staining them ourselves. Already got the stain, and I am soooo excited to get started on it! Tomorrow we are going and getting the matteress for the boys new bunk beds, and some bedding for them. I can't wait to get thier room all done up. We got Austin a few more games for the playstation. So we got home gave him the games (the bike is still in the SUV) and Austin was so excited about the new games, he rushed upstairs to play them. Well Don quietly walked outside and brought the bike in. He yelled for Austin to come down stairs. As Austin came down and came around the corner, there it sat. The NEW BIKE! Oh his facial expression was PRICELESS! It was one of pure surprise, delight, and love! I remember his exact words:

"OH MOM, DAD! I LOVE IT! OH IT IS RED JUST LIKE I ASKED YOU MOM! AND A WATER BOTTLE! OH THANK YOU, I LOOOVVVEEE ITTTTT!" and then mom and dad gets the biggest hugs ever. Of course he is still a little sick so he is going to try to ride it tomorrow. Hopefully the bunk beds will be coming to the house this week too. I think I get more excited about the boys getting stuff than getting things for myself.

Austin's teacher and I had a meeting this past week and she praised about him. How much he has improved in his writing, reading, etc. in just the past month. He got nothing but good marks from the teacher on his 2nd quarter grades. That's my boy!
