June 23, 2003
It's about time for an update. About a week ago we were all sleeping, or so I thought, I was woke up by Austin shaking a bottle of kids vitamins in my face. So up I came. Sometimes he does get up before me, but just sits in his room and watching cartoons, or he will come wake me up for breakfast. Well this morning was different! I get out of bed to head to the kitchen to start breakfast, give him his vitamin, fix Noah some milk, and my lifeline of a cup of coffee. When I woke I smelt something, wondering if Don had tried to fix some funky dish I headed to the kitchen. Only to be welcomed by a NASTY smell, as my eyes opened more (can ya tell I am not a morning person) I notice the microwave is going, the dining and kitchen is filled with smoke. I shut the microwave off. When opening it I find my bean pillow (those little pillows you can heat in the microwave for a achy back and such) The pillow was burnt to a crisp. I looked at the time on the microwave and it still read over 63 minutes. I asked "How did this?!!!" Knowing very well that Austin was the one cause no one else was awake. All I get is a reply from Austin "Not me!" UGH! I put the boys in their room due to the smoke was bad. Then proceded to open all the doors and windows. Oh the smell was the worse! Austin has never messed with the microwave like this so I was really shocked. It was the worst way to wake up in the morning. The smoke charred the countertops to a point. It also left permanant marks on my bakers rack, my "pretty" dishes that sat on the rack, and the microwave as well. The microwave is no longer a pretty white, but looks like a old one cause of the brownish color. Oh the house smelled for days and days. And I would hear Austin say "it stinks in here!!!" Gee wonder why? It still smells that nasty smell when I turn on the microwave. I don't know what made Austin want to do that to the pillow but I think we all learn a lesson in that. So at night I lock down the key pad on the microwave. We are going to buy a new one but it will have to have the locking pad like this one. Oh the trials of motherhood! Some good, some bad, and some that you will NEVER forget.
White Water
Well after finally arriving at white water we all got our little places to sit. I think there was a total of 11 of us. We thought we were going to pay for 2 adults. We only had 3 free tickets. But we all managed to get in free! It was the start of a great day! We tried to get Austin to go with us to the big water slides but he refused. He wanted to stay with his papa and grandma. So Don and I took off to ride a little. I enjoyed it all except the big wavy slide. It goes straight down. Just like on a kids swingset, except at a greater scale. I got a nose full of water. I hated that ride as a teen and hate it today too. We went back and got the boys so the grandparents could go have some fun together. We went in the wave pool where Don and the boys took off from me into the deeper part. "see ya all later I am going to go lay out and get some rays!" Which is just what I did. Until....Don came along while I was on my belly and dumped a mug of ice water on me! I still am getting him back for that. Austin and all of us went floating in the "lazy river" then headed to the area of water guns, buckets and lots and lots of water going everywhere. The kids area. Hey they didn't give an age limit now did they! They had an area for little ones too. We were there most of the day. I do have to say that the sunscreen didn't help much on Noah's little face. Austin got no redness but little Noah was a tad red. That was the key to leave. We ate at subway on the way home and then the grandparents took the boys for the night. So Don and I went out to eat, just the two of us, then done some shopping. Next weekend, this weekend, I am taking Austin to Silver Dollar City for some one on one time.
We also went to see Finding Nemo. We did this on Friday night and we all enjoyed that movie. We laughed so much. We are getting that movie when it comes out on DVD. I consider it a must for a family with kids. ;-)
