Diane's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
February 6, 2000
Austin's birthday is on Monday and he is eagerly awaiting the day. His
party this year is going to be a soccer party on an indoor field. This is
the first year there won't be any clowns, balloon animals and ice cream
cake. It's a huge sign that my baby boy is growing up. That and the
Brittany Spears poster he hasS. LOL!
We are now approaching all the wonderful events that come with growing up,
hygiene for one. He has done well with that -- now we have to talk about
dressing in more outfits than the same three that he loves to wear. He
simply won't wear anything without an elastic waist that he can pull up and
down easily. He says buttons take too long. He is also very excited about
his birthday morning surprise that he gets. Last year I hung balloons all
over his room while he slept and a kite filled with confetti. I hung a sign
that said "pull me" and when he did we yelled, "Happy Birthday!" as the
confetti fell all over him. He absolutely loved it. This year I'm going to
hang dum-dum lollipops and worm shaped balloons with cut-outs from Pokemon.
He will be so excited to wake up to that.
I wonder how much longer he is going to let me do things like for him
without thinking they are for babies. I hope it's a long time before that,
as there isn't too much he doesn't do for himself now that he is growing.
Eight S can you believe it? Time does fly. He went from this 6-pound 9 1/2
ounce little bundle of blue to this tall, almost 75-pound boy. It's amazing!
Another wonderful thing has happened as well. Adam is walking! Yeah! I feel
so much relief. He's not walking all the time yet, but it's enough to take
the worry away about him being delayed. He is even trying to say more words
and copy Alex when he speaks. All is well with my little chunk man Adam.
Alex has been enjoying school. He loves his artwork and is very proud to
show anyone who will look his creations. He painted a groundhog the other
day and when he heard ground hog mentioned on the evening news he screamed,
"Mommy, they said groundhog!" It was really cute.
Joe came home Friday night from Vegas. We somehow managed to survive the
week without him. A couple of times, Alex would be sitting doing some
activity and then just start crying, saying "Where's my daddy?" It broke my
heart. I felt so bad for him. He thought daddy was at the office. Joe is
going away again at the end of February and we'll see how he does then.
I'm sure we'll do great!
Take Care,
Diane
Good Morning/Evening to everyone! First I'd like to start off by thanking
everyone who was thinking pink for me. Yes! It's a girl, confirmed by
ultrasound last Tuesday. I was so happy, I cried. The boys and the hubby
are excited as well. Austin was so happy when he was told that he spilled
his juice. The name that I think we are going to go with is Abigael
Franceska. It has a nice ring to it. I even went out and bought a little
dress for her. I felt awkward in the girls' section of the clothing store,
and I must have looked lost because the saleswoman asked me if I needed
help (which is something they rarely do). It's the cutest little yellow
dress with farm animals on it. She is moving around a lot at night S it's a
great feeling.
