Donna's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

May 29, 2003

We’ve gone from Spring Break to already being out of school for the summer. Sigh. Too much going on. Very quick update…

My brother and sister-in-law had their baby! Audrey Lynn was born on May 1. I got there just in the nick of time. If I had been one minute later, I would have missed it. She’s adorable! The kids talk about her all the time. Just this morning, Katie was asking if tongues grow. Hmmm …interesting question. They do, I told her, but I’d never really thought about it before. She then said that they HAVE to grow because Audrey’s tongue is so small. :-)

Michael’s baseball season is over. They did really well. They won their first two playoff games, then played the best team in the league. They held their own, though, and Michael even hit in the tying run in the last inning. He can’t wait for fall ball now. Ashlee’s last volleyball game is this Saturday. She’s not real happy about that because she really loves it. Their team party is afterwards at Las Rosas.

We’ve been going to the pool a lot in the last few days. We’re all a little too toasty, so we’re not going to swim today. Katie would stay in the pool all day if I’d let her.

Another thing that’s happened since my last entry is that my grandpa is now in long-term care. He’s not doing well at all. We try to see him as often as we can.

Ashlee is excited about planning her birthday party, which she wants to have on June 14. She’ll be 13, which I cannot believe. Right now the plans are to take three of her friends to Moody Gardens, then have dinner in Galveston. But that could change at any minute with her. Katie had to get involved and started planning her birthday too. She was flipping through one of my magazines at the pool yesterday and found a volcano cake she liked. So, she’s decided to she wants to have a luau. I think it’s a great idea. One thing though, that she wants to do that I’m not so sure about: She wants to invite her boy friends, and the girls are going to chase them around, catch them, tie them up and put makeup on them. Hmmm. Not sure about how the boys or their parents will feel about that. :-)

Until next time.
