Donna's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 6, 2004

I haven’t written in a long time, and really wasn’t sure I could ever start this diary back up. But I’ve decided that this is something I want the kids to have and read one day when they’re old and gray, and laugh and remember things that happened in their lives.

The reason I stopped writing is because my husband moved out at the beginning of summer and wants a divorce. Needless to say, the kids and I have had some very hard times around here, with more to come. But, we are all being strong and trying to get through this.

I’ve decided to start back with some funny things that Katie has said or done over the last week -- because that’s what this diary is really all about.

We were lying on the couch the other night and she looked at me out of the blue and said, “I love you.” I told her that I loved her more. She said, “No, I love you more than … than … hmmm … MEAT!” The girl LOVES meat, so that made me feel very good. LOL

I was cooking dinner the other night and she was working very hard at something at the dining room table. When we sat down for dinner, she pulled out her “invention.” She had tied four or so colored, plastic bendable straws onto a plastic fork with yarn. She would drink out of the straw, and then eat with the fork. We were having ravioli with alfredo sauce, and every time she would drink, the fork would get sauce in her hair and on her forehead. I think she needs to rethink her invention.

She was singing a song the other day that went like this: “I do. Suba sue.” I really didn’t think anything of it until Ashlee asked me to tell Katie that she is singing the words wrong. She was listening to an old 98 Degrees CD, and it was supposed to be “I do, cherish you.” She is still singing it wrong because she does not believe either of us. LOL

She’s done some other funny things, but that’s enough about Miss Thing.

The kids start school on Wednesday. Ashlee is starting high school. I still cannot believe it. Michael is going into fifth grade, and Katie into second. They are all ready to go back. They need to go back to get their mind on other things.

Until next time…
