Donna's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 8, 2003

We had a great time in St. Louis and Chicago. In St. Louis, we went to the zoo, Grant’s Farm, had dinner on The Hill at Cunetto’s, to name just a few. The kids got along great with their cousins. In Chicago, Richard took the kids to a couple parks and Michael to see Wrigley Field on Friday while I was at the office. Friday night we went with the whole iP gang for pizza. On Saturday we went to Navy Pier and a lunch cruise on Lake Michigan. The kids loved that! Katie, my dancing queen, tore up the dance floor. :-) Saturday evening we all went bowling, and on Sunday we had an awesome brunch at Julie’s house, then headed home.

Katie lost her first tooth. If you take Ashlee and Michael’s excitement when they lost their first tooth and times it by 50, that’s how excited Katie was.

The kids go back to school on Tuesday. Katie got Ms. Warner (yeah!) and Michael got Ms. Howard. We had orientation at the elementary and junior high last night. Ashlee’s new school is very nice. She seems excited to start. She’s now a Mortan Ranch Maverick. I had thought a maverick was a horse, but Ms. Bracewell, their principal, explained that technically a maverick is “an unbranded animal.” Sounds like most of the preteens I see these days. :-) So, they decided on a longhorn as their animal. Go figure.

Tonight Katie is going to a back-to-school slumber party at Abby’s house and Michael has a black belt midterm. Tomorrow is the Texans first preseason game. We’re tailgating beforehand. Go Texans!

Until next time.
