Donna's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

September 11, 2003

Michael turned 10 on September 2. He hasn’t had a party yet because Katie’s party wasn’t until Labor Day weekend. She had a luau. A mini luau because, as suspected, a lot of people were out of town that weekend. But she had a great time. They made a volcano, did the limbo, had a hula-hoop contest, etc.

Last Saturday she went to a Girl Scout sleepover at her leader’s house. She had 25 people spend the night. Insane. Katie had to take her favorite pizza toppings. The little meateater picked bacon and pepperoni.

Ashlee started volleyball and had her first practice Tuesday. She has a very nice coach. Michael had baseball tryouts Saturday and did awesome.

School is going great. Everyone is bringing home good grades. Katie is reading so well already. It’s amazing how quick they pick up on things. We’re now doing the Hooked on Phonics program. Last night we were going to play a game before bedtime, and she said she would rather start the phonics program instead. She’s already halfway through Lesson One. You go girl.

Ashlee had her third orthodontic appointment yesterday. We’ve done all her molds, pictures and x-rays. Yesterday was the big treatment plan and financial talk. They’re thinking she’ll get them on the first half of November. I’m hoping it happens a little quicker than that. You should see all the appliances they’re putting in her mouth. Poor thing. At least she won’t have to wear the headgear.

Until next time.
