Introduction

Only five days until Christmas. This year has just flown by.

The kids are out of school. They had their Christmas parties yesterday. I stayed in Katie’s most of the time, but ran over and saw Michael for a few minutes. Katie is so funny. They made this really cute snowflake ornament during the party. Katie messed up and said, “shoot,” real loud. Well, it came out and sounded a little like something else, and I – and the rest of the moms and class – looked at her and grinned. She said that she knew what I had thought she said, but she doesn’t say that word. Well, she did it again a few minutes later. Again, every grinned and looked at her. I told her that I know what she’s saying, but it doesn’t sound very nice, so she was not allowed to say “shoot” anymore. She said, very loudly, “I am NOT saying the “sh” word, Mom. But YOU say it sometimes!” Everyone really enjoyed that. :-) Then, when I told her I had to go see Michael for a minute she got a little mad. I told her that I had spent almost the whole time with her, and that I needed to go see Michael. She said – very loudly again – “I wish I was an ONLY child!” Well, that cracked up the whole class, especially Ms. Warner, who looked at me and said, “Donna, you’ve got your hands full with THAT one.” Boy, do I.

She did have a very proud moment too. In the craft kit there was this piece of sparkly pipecleaner that the kids were supposed to glue around their picture. But, it wouldn’t stick. Katie said she was going to use her piece as an ornament hanger instead. One of the moms saw, and made an announcement to the class about Katie’s smart idea. Well, everyone ohhed and ahhed and said that’s what they were going to do too. You should have seen her face. She was so proud of her idea.

Ashlee is still talking funny, and hasn’t really eaten anything solid is over a week. She did eat three side orders of mashed potatoes when we went out for dinner last night with Randy and Donna. She is definitely a drama queen. It’s still hard to understand her, and I hate asking her to repeat herself all the time. She gets so frustrated sometimes.

Katie was so funny this morning. We were being lazy and lying in bed when the phone rang. It was Richard, who was shopping with a friend of his when he was supposed to be at work. He’s been doing this all the time lately. I told him it amazed me that he still had a job. I hung up and told Katie, joking, that when daddy looses his job we can only eat beans for dinner. She said, “I LOVE beans! Beans, steak and a baked potato!” I told her no, she could only have the beans. She said, “If you have to pick only one, Mom, when you don’t have a job, we’ll pick the steak!” LOL

The kids are getting so excited about moving the first of the year. They have decided that we will live in Williamsburg Settlement. Ashlee wants to so she can go to the new high school and be able to go to the tennis courts anytime she wants (she’s been playing tennis with Sarah a lot lately and wants to try out for the team at school). Katie wants to so she can walk to school. Same with Michael. There are some really nice homes up for sale in that neighborhood, so who knows.

Last night at the restaurant, “Jef with one F” was playing. He got the kids up and they sang a Christmas song. It was too cute. Michael sang so loud he drowned out everyone else. :-) I’ve sent in a picture to be posted of them singing, and one of Katie at her Christmas party.

Until next time.
