Happy New Year! *A little late, I know!*

Well, I just wanted to get us up to date here. Due to bad weather, Andrew and I didn’t go anywhere for New Year’s. Also, he had to work late that night. Hey, I was content to sit at home with Gabby (my Great Dane) and just watch TV. We’re both couch potatoes, I am ashamed to say.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Well, it has been QUITE a year, I should say. This year I finished one year of vocational school, started my job at the clinic, got a new car (2002 Hyundai Sante Fe), and we bought our very first house. What a year! We’re still trying to recover financially, too.

SCHOOL

We just received 2nd quarter report cards. I will start with Chris. His report was “ok.” Let’s just say that it wasn’t great and I wasn’t real proud. (We are talking behaviorally here.) Now as for his actual schoolwork, he seems to be doing well and is right where he needs to be. He knows his address, telephone number, letters, numbers, colors, and is doing pretty well in reading I must say. Because we work with Ben so much and he is in 1st grade, I would say that Chris is reading pretty close to Ben’s level. I am very proud of him for trying so hard when he isn’t really pushed to do so. His teacher and I are supposed to be having a conference pretty soon. I need to call her and set that up.

Ben is doing great. He has made a LOT of improvement in reading and writing. He has all A’s in Math again. (We may have a little math whiz on our hands, but I don’t want to jump to premature conclusions here.) Ben usually has math homework every night and I help him with it, but not always. He is either memorized the format of his math homework sheets or he is reading the directions VERY well! LOL He has surprised me though. He does ALL of his homework with little or no help. Sometimes, he will do the homework in After-School care before I even pick them up. That really relieves me.

Well, that’s really all I can think of to write about for this week. I hope that you’ll join us next week! Until then,

Heather, Ben, & Chris
