Summer Is Upon Us

Well, school is out and summer is here. The weather has been hot off and on, though. We had a few scary looking skies but nothing major in the way of tornadoes and such. The boys are enjoying this beautiful weather. In fact, they have started playing at the neighbors’ houses more and more and I am now having to set boundaries for them. They have such a growing sense of independence and I don’t want to squash it, just guide it.

As I said, Chris is doing SO much better on the medication. Our home life is becoming a lot more pleasant, especially when it’s just the kids and I on the weekends. Chris and I are developing a relationship and it is so much better than it ever used to be between us. (I have a hard time explaining this I writing, especially in a short amount of time.)

The boys celebrated their birthdays a couple of weeks ago. Ben is 7 and Chris is 6. They both received money from both sets of grandparents and bought transformers. (Go figure.) Chris got 4 and Ben was a little more wise with his money. Ha ha…. They had a good time. We didn’t really do a big party or anything. Just some family time. I did surprise them, though, and on Ben’s birthday I bought advanced tickets to “Finding Nemo” and when I picked them up from the sitter, I told them where we were going. They were so surprised and VERY excited. I took them out for a special dinner at Applebee’s (Ben picked) and then we went to the show. We had such a blast!!! The boys absolutely loved the movie. It was the cutest thing I have seen in a LONG time.

Ok, well a lot of things have been happening with me this week and if you want to read about that you can check it out on my Moms Today diary at www.momstoday.com/diaries/heather.

Thanks for joining us. Until next time,

Heather, Ben, and Chris
