Merry Christmas! We had a wonderful day, but let’s back up a little, shall we?
Monday was a day that I can’t even explain. It began snowing around 1pm, and let’s just say we got about an inch every half-hour. The traffic on my way home from work was gridlocked in EVERY direction for hours, due to panicked last minute Christmas shoppers. It took me 3 hours to drive about 5 miles from my work place. Cell phone lines were jammed, landline phones were jammed….It was a complete mess!!!! I actually didn’t get home until 10:30pm that evening. Anyway, even though it was stressful, we knew that we would have a white Christmas, and that in itself was exciting!
Well, it didn’t stop there. Tuesday, Christmas Eve, I was scheduled to work 4 hours that day. However, the snow was so heavy and coming down so thick, we had what was called a white-out. You couldn’t see anything. I ended up having to call in. What could possibly be more wonderful than having to miss work on Christmas Eve due to heavy snow? We ended up getting about 14-16 inches total. It was a REALLY white Christmas.
The boys received many wonderful gifts. I think Ben’s favorite gift was the Hot Wheel’s Octoblast from his grandmother (my mom.) Christopher’s favorite gift was this pirate’s chest I bought him, along with the book from “Treasure Planet” which makes all kinds of wonderful noises. I, on the other hand, got the Sims Hot Date expansion (which I have not stopped playing, all day!) Andrew got his Xbox and he is VERY happy, indeed!
We had a lovely, but small, dinner at our house with Andrew’s parents. It was nice and relaxing. After they left, which was early due to ice, Andrew and I had to shovel snow from the driveway. (Can you imagine?) It was NOT fun, but a great way to work off those calories from the dinner! LOL
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! Until next time,
Heather, Ben, & Chris
