Jenna's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

June 30, 2001

Last weekend Kirk and I spent the day at Six Flags over Georgia for AtlantaFest 2001. (Atlantafest.com) It is a 4 day Christian music festival. We have just started really listening to the chirstian music station in the past few months and we have already discovered a few groups we really enjoy. One of them is the Newsboys. Kirk likes the songs they play by them on the radio, so I figured we'd go see them in concert.
We had such a blast. Kirk had some money to spend and he bought a few souvenirs. They boys--Aaron went too--rode some of the kid rides and we all went on the log ride. The concerts were great. Aaron really got into the music--when he's older I'll take him into the mosh pit. Kirk's more of a stand and listen guy. He didn't seem to enjoy it when we were there, but the next day, the show was all he could talk about. I guess we just enjoy music in different ways.

Kirk has made it to the second level in the Vacation Reading Program at the library. When we go back Monday, he'll get a certificate and a paperback book. He's doing so well.

Kirk has just completed 2 weeks of swimming lessons and though his instructor says he has great form, he'll not be able to swim until he is able to get his face in the water. I have such a fear of water and I don't want Kirk to be that way. I can swim now, but I went for so many years not even enjoying the water. I want better for Kirk. We'll just keep on working on it and maybe by next year, he'll be able to learn swim.
I guess that is all for now.
