Jenna's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 30, 2001

Well, I'm down to my last week in GA. Kirk is stressing a little bit, okay he's stressing A LOT! He's having accidents, if you know what I mean. These accidents are happening 2 or 3 times a day. Boy, Melanie's Psychology class could do a study on him. I feel terrible for him. He's in such a weird place. He wants to be with his daddy, but he doesn't want to leave all his friends and family behind. It is as if I'm making him choose. I think the problem is, he'd rather stay here and that gives him guilt. Just because this is the right thing to do doesn't mean it is easy. I wish I could help him. I think the best I can do is let him know that I'm sad, and scared and confused and then get him into a routine as soon as possible once we get there.

To make matters worse, he had to go to the dentist yesterday and he knew he had cavities. He is pretty afraid of having the dentist poking and prodding around in his mouth to begin with, but we weren't sure if he'd get drilled yesterday or not. Not. Dr Faunce won't be able to do it. We'll have to find a new dentist right away when he move to get the cavities filled. (Like I needed one more thing.) It looks like Wes will be off for a week or two when we arrive, so I'll have some help.

I think I have found a church in Newhall. It is about 15 or 20 min away from Van Nuys, so that is a reasonable drive. We drive 15 min now. I've spoke to the pastor via e-mail and I'm very excited. They have many of the same programs that we have here, so that will really help Kirk adjust.

Well, I guess that is about it for now. Keep us--especially Kirk--in your prayers.
Jenna
