Jo's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

January 15, 2001

Well it has been a very quiet week for us this week. School started Monday and we usually stay close to home. Tyler was glad to be back to school. Even if he said he wasn't, I know he was!

We did go to my sister's house for dinner this week. She is just known as Auntie. He first met her when he was too young and had trouble saying her name -- Paulette. So, he just called her "Auntie." I think it makes her feel special because all of the other aunties have a name but her. They have their own special relationship and I think it is wonderful. I might even say I'm a little jealous! Sometimes when we are together he calls her Mom! She is my babysitter so he spends quite a bit of time with her in the summer when Lee and I are both working. He likes going to her house. She always has stuff to do or she gives him jobs and pays him. He really likes getting money! That's his new thing -- how much money he has and what he can buy with it.

The Pokemon Gameboy has taken over my sons life! That is all he wants to do all day, every day. Where do we draw the line? He wants to take it everywhere he goes, but his batteries have died. But, hold on, Daddy came to the rescue with an adapter! I have to tell him to shut the game off and play something else.

He's been roller blading and playing hockey in the driveway with Dad. It's amazing how the hockey stick gives balance for them when they are playing hockey! Now he wants to play hockey for real. Next year, maybe! We just need to work on his ice skating a little more. Who knows? Maybe he'll be the next Wayne Gretzey!

Well, I think that's about it for this week. Not too much excitement for us right now.

Take care

Jo and Tyler
