June's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 24, 1999

Chanel missed her ride with Daddy again today. Hysterical and crying, but she did not dash out on her own to school. She waited for me to take her. My husband was upset with her and what is now going on three weeks of wearing overalls. He said he would be embarrassed to be seen with her looking so sloppy. He told me that this would be a poor reflection of us. I corrected him " politely " that she has to wear them and deal with peer opinion. We cannot make her wear what we want but rather suggest our taste when she is interested in our opinion. I told him to leave rather then getting upset with her. I would get her there and not get emotional about it. We need to let her suffer the natural consequences for being late for school. She will be timed out and or punished or fined for being disrespectful or destructive. I'm a little calmer now and not as emotional and feeling guilt as I was earlier. I just need to somehow find time to be by myself or do June things ... not mommy things ... and right now that seems impossible.

I'm feeling the financial crunch now as we are looking at hiring an extra set of hands to help out when the baby comes ... since my husband is only home one night from Monday to Friday as well as Chanel is in weekly therapy -- this money has to come from somewhere. I feel like I'm too dependant on my husband for the money since I have always had a good paying job until I decided to stay at home a year ago. This will be a scrooge Christmas this year.
