Shelley's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 7, 2000

Well I was looking over my last entries and I really don't want anyone to think Cory's a monster boy. He isn't. He is very sweet, loyal, protective, stubborn -- we are a lot alike.

But he's made a lot of behavior improvements lately, and he's working much harder at school. He gets his report card in about two weeks, so we'll see for sure. Over the weekend, we registered him for soccer. So come May and June he'll have hap-ki-do Monday and Wednesday 6-7:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday soccer 6-8:00 p.m. It'll be busy for him (and me, his chauffeur), but I think it'll be good, too. Especially soccer. He played two years ago and really liked it. And we went to all the games and practices. This time around Hayley can come and bring a ball or toys to play with. Last time, she was there for the last month of play (born June 2) but she slept through most of it.

Cory was very brave last night. He had a tooth that was very loose, but he was scared to try to pull it or let anyone else pull it. (He said I could do it, but it grossed me out.) So Tony was very patient and talked him through it after Cory decided he was ready. It took almost ten minutes. Cory would stop because it hurt or felt weird. And then it started to bleed. And Cory is very afraid of blood. He freaks out. He was in the bathroom shaking and crying. And Tony was very calm and reassuring and soon, POP! there it was! Cory was very proud that he did it himself. And even happier today when he found a dollar under the pillow. He has two more loose teeth, so I hope he'll be just as brave the next time around.

Talk to you all soon!!
