Suzi's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

January 26, 2000

Oh boy ... another week of milestones here in our house! Matthew was awarded his first ever blue ribbon when he won the first round of the Pinewood Derby! From what his dad said he was barely nosed out in the second race -- the closest margin between first and second for the whole event. The overall pack winner was Mike's cousin's boy. They also received their awards for the Cub Scout popcorn sale.

Saturday, Matthew went to a birthday party at the local bowling lanes. Guess who managed to smash his own finger with a bowling ball! From the looks of it the nail will fall off. You think he'd learn ... Sunday he managed to get the other thumb with a mousetrap! (It's a long story but lets just say my inventor was at it again after he'd been warned.) Now he wants to take his allowance and buy traps!

Monday, I took Sam along to the dance studio while Nicholas had his acro and tap sessions. Nick was so thrilled to show off his "Be-be" brother Samuel to his friends and their mommies!

This morning Matthew came running out of the bathroom to show me his first permanent tooth broke through right behind his lower front teeth. Unfortunately, though, this means the dentist wants to pull the two baby teeth from in front of it because they're not loose yet. Puts a whole different twist on his appointment next week. I always say I don't feel old, but somehow the sight of my little boy's first "big" tooth unhinged me some today!

Until next week!
