February 17, 2001
The other day my "Aunt" Connie, (actually my dad's cousins wife) gave the boys a belated Christmas package. Each of them got a $15 gift card for KBToys.Nick, Sam & I went there after a McDonald's birthday party the other day. Sam picked out 2 containers of MegaBloc's, 1 set in a tiny wagon, the other in a toddler chair. Nick came out of the store with a bog full of finger bikes, finger cycles & their accessories.Matt had to wait for Friday & his President's Day vacation from school for his trip there.
Well, I took Matt to the store....before we went he plucked his extra dollars
from his pigbank with tweezers....
I figured we'd come back with a bag of fingerbike stuff like Nick did...
Well, first he had a remote control 70 Chevelle (the mini of the one we got Em, mike's niece for Christmas)
& one of those mini raido looking keychains that plays 'NSync...well, then he saw a Karoake machine on sale....
He put everything in his buggy back & I gave him the differance & now
we're being songed outta here! (It came w/ bunny hop, YMCA,Macarena,
hokey pokey, etc on a tape....)Oh & he figured out that another other microphone he
bought on an excursion to the Dollar Store a while back will go on it too & then duets can be sung!LOL!
His taste in shopping never ceases to amaze me.Hardware & electronics seem to appeal to him more than the toys that other kids would drag home. That & his taste in books. He loves science books & stories about animals. He came home from the school book fair last week with a book of state maps, a book about bioluminecsence (things that glow in the dark in nature to you & me) and a book about sheepdogs.
Well, thru the night he came down with the flu & is pretty miserable. Not even water & saltines are staying down so my weekend plans have been turned fm spring cleaning to nursemaid! Luckily Nick seems ok so I sent him off to the grandparents for a bit. Sam has a stuffy nose but so far noting more.
~Have a good Presidents Day for those of you who get it off. (at least Matt's perfect attendance is still intact!)I'm off with my can of spray disinfectant & bottle of Pepto!
