Well, it's snowing here again! Over the weekend I thought Spring was on it's way them WHAM on Sunday night we started getting covered in white fluffy stuff again!
The weather had been cleared up enough that Mike cut down the cherry tree in the front yard.As much as we enjoyed it there it's roots were starting to threaten our water lines.Matt & Nick have been helping him saw away at it once it's was on the ground.They'll really miss it though as it was the tree they always climbed & I'd find them up higher than roof level.Matt & I counted the rings on it. We counted the center plus 9 rings.It grew from a seed a bird or a person dropped there the year we moved here.It was always amazing that it survived so close to the sidewalk & never got nailed with the mower.
Sunday Mike decided to also take a really big branch off the pine on the other side of the sidewalk. It turned into a really big job as it was massive.The snow had started by the time it came down.
I took video of them sawing the cherry but have to figure out how to transfer a frame so I can post them.
Other big events going on around here now are that Matt & I attended the Blue/Gold banquet for scouts & he's finishing up his Light of Christ award for scouts this weekend.Next Monday he has a day off school while the teachers have an in~service. We're going to head into Pittsburgh for the outfit for his First Communion/Confirmation. It'll be just a few weeks after the baby is due so I figure we better get it out of the way now.
Well, time to post just in case the weather would take the electricity out! I don't think it's that bad yet but you never can tell...
