April 18, 2000
Matthew and I spent time over the last three days working on a
special school project. Tomorrow they're having a Crazy Hat Contest
at his school. We crafted a 3-foot tall stovepipe type hat of neon
pink posterboard and plastered it with glitter and pink fun foam
flamingos. We cut out the flamingos and feathered them with pink and
purple then festooned them with ribbons, bells and beads. I dropped
it off to his classroom at the end of school today. Nick has his
Easter egg hunt at school tomorrow and I didn't want to have to do
everything at once. Each classroom will have a winner and the kids
get participation awards as well.
Tonight we're to meet up with Matt's Godparents and their two
children as they pass through on their way to Lancaster. When we were
younger we spent a lot of time with them, but a few years ago they
moved to Chicago.
Tomorrow after school Nick and his cousin Moriah are to dye eggs. The
two of them are 7 months apart in age and enjoy spending time
together. I also enjoy taking them places, as it's fairly normal for
someone to ask if they're twins.
I also found out that I get to chaperone Matt's field trip in three
weeks. We're taking approximately 80 first graders to the science
center in downtown Pittsburgh.
All this and a holiday to worry about! Yikes! It seems like it was
just Christmas !
