Well, as big as he thinks he is, Nick couldn't quite figure out how
to keep Blankie with him and ride the bike... enter mom and big
brother. After folding Blankie down to 1/8 size and sending Matt to
fetch a rubberband from his secret stash Nick now has a lovely fleece
seat cover which almost matches his bike!
Matthew and his rubberbands are a whole 'nother story. Since he was
about 4, he's been "inventing" things. One of his most famous
inventions being his "automatic door closers" made by attaching
rubber bands from the hinges on cabinets to the corners of the doors
(standard disclaimer here.... Do Not Try This At Home -- we've had
quite a few incidents of doors catching people's fingers and heads
when they closed just a little too quick. LOL!). I probably have the
only kids who go to the Everything's $1 store and come back with
hardware, rubber bands and the like.
Well, have a great week everyone -- we're booked solid once again for
over a week. The schedule includes my Godson's first Communion,
Matt's last two soccer games, Cub Scout day at Three River's Stadium
(Pirates v. Cardinal's game) and the school picnic at Kennywood park.

A couple weeks ago I wrote about Nicholas mastering the two-wheeler.
I figured everyone would get a chuckle out of this next part. One
minute they want to be grown up and the next minute they're still our
babies. A little while ago Nick was hollering for me to come outside.
I figured he'd scraped his knee or something minor since he was only
whining -- no tears. Well, he was wrestling with his bike and his
blankie. Blankie has been with the family since just before Nick was
born. It's a rather worn, somewhat threadbare papoose-sac-type baby
blanket of electric blue, fuschia and black. Blankie has a twin, not
quite as threadbare known as New Blankie. (and yes, he can tell them
apart).
