Hello everyone!
Well, the summer is half over -- or half left depending on your life view! The holiday weekend was fairly relaxing here. On Sunday we attended a large family picnic which doubled as a 40th birthday party for Mike's cousin. Someone bought him this really cool animated groundhog something like that fish that's all the rage!
The cousins have an inground pool which the older boys and Mike enjoyed. Mike was re-initiating himself to the pool in preparation for attending Boy Scout camp with Matthew next weekend. Saturday Matt's friend Justin spent the day here while his mom worked. The kid is in major need of some guidance! The last time he visited the boys' room was a mess when he left and I thought it was just a fluke. I'd spent Friday afternoon cleaning so the boys were supposed to play outside. For some reason Justin and Nick came inside and when I went and checked on them there were clothes and toys tossed (and I do mean tossed) from one end of the room to the other. There wasn't an inch of bare floor to stand on! I feel like I can't turn my back for a second when this kid's around.
He got into some stuff in Mike's workshop and broke a tool. Some other things were thrown around too. I think it will be awhile till I let the boys invite him back.
Mike and I spent another chunk of the weekend doing a graphics project. The local church is celebrating its 100th anniversary this weekend. We'd agreed to retouch and enlarge some old photos then mount them for a presentation.
My parents have spent the past week in Colorado and Arizona. They flew out for a cousin's wedding and added a few vacation days on. I keep getting calls from the kennel about their dog. First she wasn't eating, then she seemed to have a stomach ailment -- she's always had a sensitive tummy and I guess she's just in a snit. I drove to the kennel this AM and gave her the tummy medicine that the vet has always recommended. I think she thought I was there to take her home. She'll probably be really mad when she does come home. In the past after she was groomed she's already given everyone the cold shoulder for a couple days. Nothing like an Old English Sheepdog with a grudge!
Till next time when I may have tales from scout camp!
