Suzi's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
July 17, 2000
Well, my guys survived camp in one piece. The only casualty seems to have been Mike's back. Ever since camp he's been walking like an old man and complaining of lower back pain. Must be the cold air round the campfire.
They both seem to have enjoyed it. I think Mike may have actually enjoyed it more than Matt. I told him I think it's just that you have a greater appreciation for the outdoors and organized activities as an adult than as a child.
Matthew is itching to go fishing again ever since they've been home. Neither Mike or I have been fishing for about 11 years~ -- since my parents sold their place on the Juniata river in central PA.
I should ask Mike to write a synopsis of their adventure. From what I've heard they were scheduled from one activity all day with only the dinner break till campfire time. Apparently Matt fulfilled quite a few requirements for Cub Scout belt loops and pins. Mike and I need to sit down and go through the handbook to make sure everything is signed off and up to date. Next month there's a scheduled Fun Day and overnight at the local scout camp just up the road. It should be interesting to see if Matthew asks Pap-Pap or Dad to go along.
Till next week!
Suzi
-- oh, and for the record: Matt would only eat the desert in the dining hall!
