October 18, 1999
Well, it hasn't been a tremendously eventful week. On Saturday, Matthew
finished up his soccer season. We had a team pizza party with a scrimmage
between the kids and the adults.
For the first time, Nicholas went a birthday party with just his friends at the local indoor amusement center. I had Matt stay with my mom rather than tag along to make Nick feel like a "big kid."
The boys spent the rest of the weekend hanging around with their dad and doing "boy stuff" in the yard -- climbing trees, making mud puddles, and putting up some Halloween decorations.
The leaves here seem to be at their peak. We've been watching turkeys and deer amble through the field.
Today through Wednesday, Matthew has achievement tests at school. I can't imagine what they think they'll accomplish by testing first graders after only a month of school! As bright as he is, Matt is scared stiff, plus his regular teacher was absent Friday, which added to his anxiety.
Until Next Week!
