It’s finally here ... the day that I have been waiting for! All the kids are in school at some point. Although I don’t have nearly as much free time as I thought I would. There always seems to be something going on at one of the schools or an endless number of errands for me to run. I’m still hoping for some free time to write that novel that has been in my brain for so many years.
Jimmy and Stasia decided to go to school together, which I am very happy about. I was so worried about them being separated this year. I realize that they’ll have to go to different schools at some point, but they are just not ready yet. They were the ones who decided that they wanted to go to the same school this year. They are doing very well, although I think it will be a much bigger challenge for them this year.
Zack started kindergarten this year, although I’m not sure how long he’ll be there. I have already gotten a few notes from his teacher. She says that he is too hyper to concentrate on his work or to even pay attention to her. She says that it is affecting his education big time!
The school tested him for ADHD and he scored way below average which means that he has it. I have a doctor’s appointment for him this month. We are trying desperately to get something done about his medication. The one that he is on now doesn’t seem to be working at all. If we don’t figure out something soon, he may be taken out of school (again). That saddens me so much because I know what a bright child he really is. He has so much potential. If you’ve experienced similar ordeals with one of your children, please drop me a line. I need all of the support I can get!
Until we chat again,
Teena
