Introduction
Hello all,
Here I sit on New years eve, just finished preparing the crabcakes and the creme brulee. They were out of lobster tails at costco so I ended up with some rib roast. Never cooked a whole roast before, we'll see if we eat before midnite. Its just Craig and I and the girls. But we'll have champange, Piper-heidsich and watch Moonstruck.
Natalie, my baby, was six on December 18th. Hard to believe she is so grown up now. Six years ago, it was a wednesday. Craigs mom Bev had come to stay with us to take care of Sophie. The weather was unseasonably warm so I was happy. Anyhow, as I had to have a c-section (breech baby #2) it was scheduled weeks in advance. I worked a couple of hours on tuesday and then went to the grocery store to stock up for when I was in the hospital. BIG MISTAKE, totally should have done that earlier. I thought I was gonna drop the kid right there in the store. However I made it home with tons of groceries and baby still in strained tum. We didn't know what we were having by the way. Wedsnesday, got up at ungodly hour and we were off.
All the usual stuff, went with a spinal this time, MUCH BETTER, than epidural for csection. Plus they put the cath in AFTER the spinal, AWESOME! Didn't want Dr to tell me sex of baby, wanted to see for myself. So Dr. Horowitz, held up a big baby GIRL for me to see! I was so happy, I have only brothers and I so wanted for Sophie to have a sister.
Usual post op, lots of pain but I loved the self regulated morphine pump thing. Now we had to decide what to name our 9lb 12oz baby. We had originally planned on Raquel but when she was born it just didn't fit. Three days we agonized until we agreed on Natalie Simone, I still like the name Robin though, just between you and me.
Now Natalie is six and beautiful and healthy. She loves to help out in the kitchen and loves her blankie and her sister. She is my delicate flower, sweet and shy. Natalie has lovely brown hair and greeny, hazel eyes. Recently, she lost her two bottom teeth. She is trying on her own, to not suck her thumb, but she is still my sweet baby.
Until
Love Julie, 34
Sophie, 7 and NATALIE 6
