My daughter is cutting herself. Why is she doing this and how do I stop it?
Cutting is a serious symptom, and your daughter should consult with a qualified therapist. Minimally, she is clinically depressed and in all likelihood is troubled by some issue she feels helpless about. Often, people who cut themselves are trying to cover up an emotional pain with a physical one. This is also a cry for help. Some children/teens who cut themselves have been abused in some way. Some have family lives that are in upheaval in some way.
