My cousin's daughter is staying with me. She takes Adderall XR. Can she eat sugar with this medication?
She can eat sugar while taking Adderall XR there are no interactions between sugars and medications for ADD/ADHD. While it's true that eating large amount of sugar without anything else on the stomach can make children and adults more excitable for a short period of time, it will not cause hyperactivity or have adverse affects on medications to treat it. If your cousin asked that she avoid sugar, she may have other health conditions and dietary restrictions. Ask the parents more questions to be certain."
