At 4, he played the violin perfectly without taking a single lesson. At 8, he composed his first symphony. At 14, he was accused of theft because he listened to a treasured piece of sacred music in Rome just once -- and wrote down the entire piece by memory. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is the focus of Classical Kids' latest release, which combines an engaging and educational story with excerpts of many of Mozart's most famous works.

Mozart

In the story, Mozart's disillusioned and rebellious son, Karl, and his companions travel in time on a magical excursion to witness important events in Mozart's life. In the process, they gain an in-depth understanding of Mozart as a composer and musical prodigy. Listeners along for the journey will learn historical facts as well as hear excerpts from 24 of Mozart's most important works, such as Symphony No. 1, Clarinet Quintet, Eine Kleine NachtMusik, Figaro, Don Giovanni, and The Magic Flute.

This new release joins other award-winning Classical Kids' recordings including Beethoven Lives Upstairs, Tchaikovsky Discovers America, Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery, and Mr. Bach Comes to Call.

This 45-minute musical adventure is designed for children 5-12. It is an innovative way to introduce classical music, and a bit of musical history, to children and their grown-ups.
